After Tokyo Olympic, We will have a special tour in Summer 2020.
Japan expert John McBride AM who is well known for Yamabushi which is Japanese mountain ascetic hermits.
This tour is timed to coincide with the Autumn Yamabushi (Mountain Ascetic) training program.
We will witness the initial “mountain entering ceremonies” of the Yamabushi on the first day of
training. And we will watch them climb Mount Gassan (as we climb along with them). In the meantime we will walk for 3 days on the ancient Yamabushi highway, the Rokujurigoe Highway. And finally we will witness the fire ceremony on the final evening of their training. The following day we watch them descend from Mount Haguro and enter the village at the bottom of Mount Haguro. Your tour leader is a licensed “Sendatsu” Yamabushi guide who has completed
the Autumn training course 5 times. Akio Matsui is your tour manager. Maximum group size will be 12 customers.
